Hi Sharon,
I hope it was amazing enough to slip itself into your day as a habit. Any time we can give our bodies a chance to do the opposite of the normal forward bend of daily life, it's treat. Keep doing it!

Hey Catherine,
It's a very nice way to spend five minutes, isn't it? Glad you liked it. I'd be happy to see you in class one of these days.

Ah Nina, you and me both. Chest openers are the first thing I turn to when I practice, and my refuge when things get tough. They're a gift, for sure.

Hi Eve,
chest openers were a life saver for me - literally! At 34, I already was getting hunched over and I was depressed and anxious. Now after 14 years of practice, chest openers are still emotionally and physically challenging for me but are a regular and important part of my practice. My depression and anxiety has all but disappered and I am grateful for discovering the transformational properties of chest openers.

Hi Anita, glad you found it useful. Chest openings really bring me back into a comfortable relationship with my body.

Eve, I am reading this post after a wakeful night in a hotel traveling on business. A chest opener on a rolled up towel was exactly what I needed! What a relief. Now - onward with the day!

This post confirmed what I'd already discovered for my body: that I need a supine chest-opener daily! Thanks for your clear explanation here.

I'd been meaning to post about teaching a modified version of this chest opener to my dad, and you spurred me to action: http://yogaspy.wordpress.com/2010/05/14/yoga-rx-for-my-dad/.

Thanks again,
YogaSpy
